Questions on SD Card Phone Recorder - Caller ID
- From Bruce at 2/2/11 9:34 AM
- Will this device automatically record all incoming and outgoing calls? will it work with cordless phones? Can it be plugged into any jack in the house?
- Hi Bruce, yes, you can plug this into any wall jack in your house that is active and it will automatically record all incoming and outgoing calls made on that line. Even cordless phones, because it is connected directly into the phone line and not just a particular phone.

- Will this device work on DSL phone line service?
- Hi Jerzy, yes, as long as you have a DSL filter on the telephone line. Most phone companies give you some filters when you first switch to DSL, or, you can buy them pretty much anywhere they sell telephone accessories, such as Target, Kmart, Radio Shack, Walmart, etc.

- Is this system a good option for a small business that has 4 call units and need to record customer surveys? I have been given a couple different bids and they are each in the thousands of dollars. This seems like a very good reasonable option.
- Hi Josh, yes, your story is one we hear very frequently. This SD phone recorder is an excellent choice for businesses, and saves a lot of money over other brands of business recording systems.

- From Vern at 5/18/11 2:53 PM
- Am I able to play my recordings without being hooked to a computer? Does the SD-REC2 show how much space is still available or is that a computer feature only?
- Hi Vern, yes, you can easily just play the recordings back right on the recorder itself and there is no need for a computer. When your memory is at 80% full it will display a warning message so you have plenty of time to erase what you don't need or get another memory card.

- From Jackson at 5/30/11 9:12 AM
- What software is required to get calls on computer? Can I just insert SD card to computer to get information?
- Hi Jackson, the software is already included on a CD that comes with the phone recorder. You install the software on your PC first, and then you can get the recordings from the SD card onto your computer.

- From Steve at 6/10/11 9:23 AM
- Will this recorder provide automatic recording behind a PBX (Definity G3R) with digital (Avaya 8410) phones?
- Hi Steve, yes it will do automatic recording for you. You'll need to change it to Handset Mode and connect it to the phone base where the phone's handset cord usually plugs in. Then you plug the handset into the back of the recorder, and it will record phone calls on that phone, no matter what line the phone is on.

- From Georgia at 6/16/11 12:00 AM
- I have a cordless phone system that has other handsets that do not plug into a phone jack, they just need plugged into an electrical outlet. If I am on one of these phones will the recorder record this conversation too?
- Hi Georgia, yes, if you're talking about standard single-line, home phone service then it will record all phones because you plug it directly into the line at the wall jack. (It's just like plugging in another phone and listening in with that phone.)

- From Andrew at 6/22/11 12:31 PM
- Since I have no idea what a WAV format is, what will I need to transfer the SD card data to my computer and listen to the recorded calls?
- Hi Andrew, great question. The phone recorder does come with it's own software you can install on your computer and use to listen to the calls. If you want to, you can also use that software to convert the files to WAV format. This is not a necessary step, but if you want to share the phone recording files with others, then you'll want to give it to them in WAV format. When in WAV format, any Windows based computer can just click the file and it will automatically play with the built-in Windows Media Player (no special software required). As a side note, you can also listen the the phone call recordings directly from the recorder as well.
