Questions on PDR3-256 Voice and Phone Recorder (128hrs)
- From David at 1/17/11 10:25 AM
- 1. Is this device appropriate for recording telephone interviews for research purposes?
2. Is it compatible with Dragon Strictly Speaking or other voice-to-text applications?
3. Does it work with all kinds of telephones: old-fashioned handsets, cordless, cell? - Hi David, 1. Yes, we have many clients that use this model for telephone recording of research interviews. 2. We are not familiar with the Dragon application. This device records in it's own proprietary format, but comes with PC software that enables you to convert the recordings to either WAV or MP3 format files. 3. This model works with phones that have a removable curly handset cord. (Not compatible with cordless phones or cell phones.)

- From Ron at 1/31/11 10:55 AM
- Can I use this device for retrieving archive voicemail, playback, & record? Will this create a .wav file I can then save to computer/network? This will help me clear off old archive voicemail. Please let me know. Thanks..
- Hi Ron, yes, you can use this for recording your voicemail messages. You connect the recorder to your phone's curly handset cord. Then call your voicemail and press record before you listen to each message. You can store and listen to the recordings right on the recorder, or, it also comes with software that will allow you to upload the files and convert them to WAV format if you wish.
