Questions on FSV-128 66-Hour Phone and Cell Phone Digital Recorder
- From Gladys at 1/27/11 4:22 PM
- Can you record from another room??? I mean if the phone that receives the call doesn't have the recorder, and the recorder is in another room can it still record the conversation??
- Hi Gladys, yes, you absolutely can record from another room! (As long as you have standard analog phone service (from your local phone company) or your internet phone service is going through an (analog) telephone adapter. Or to explain more simply, if you have multiple phone wall jacks in the house and you have the recorder connected to one wall jack, and the phone is connected to another wall jack, then it will work. (This is because the recorder is connected into the phone line, not just a particular phone.)

- From William Stanley at 1/28/11 10:42 PM
- Is there any MAC compatible software for FSV-128 66-Hour Phone and Cell Phone Digital Recorder
- Hi William, no, this FSV-128 model is not MAC compatible. To utilize a phone recorder with a MAC, look our other models that either store the phone recording files to an SD card, or the models that record directly to MP3 or WAV format.

- My Phone jack is in an upstairs room. can i hook the recorder up to the phone in my living room or does it have to be into the main jack?
Thank you - Hi Rita, do you mean there is another wall jack in the living room you want to connect it to? In this case, yes you can. Or, do you mean you want to connect it directly to the telephone itself? In that case, you can if you also get the optional handset adapter which allows you to connect it to the phone's curly-coiled handset cord.

- From Patrick at 2/11/11 5:14 PM
- Our phone service is provided by our Cable company.
We have a cordless phone with a standard phone jack that plugs into the cable modem provided by the cable company (same modem provides internet as well).
Will the FSV -128 work in this situation? Thanks Patrick - Hi Patrick, if I understand you correctly, it sounds like you have a telephone adapter that plugs into the modem, and your phone base plugs into the telephone adapter? If so, then yes it will work. The key is that you have an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) that the telephone/recorder plugs into. This ATA device then plugs into your cable modem.

- Hello, can the device playback and record at the same time? Thanks.
- Hi Calvin, if you mean can you listen to the phone call from the recorder live as it's taking place, then yes. You can plug earphones (included) into the recorder and listen at the same time as it's recording.

- I want to order this to be delivered to my office address.
Does the package that I receive reveal that there is a recording device in there? Or does it reveal that it is from a phone spying device company? - Hi Kevin, we ship in a completely discrete manner. The return address used on the shipping label is a generic name and not the name of this website. The shipping box is a plain cardboard box and also does not indicate anywhere on it that there is a phone recording device inside, or that it came from this website.

- I want to be able to record all incoming and outgoing calls on all phones in the house. If the recorder is plugged into the wall jack in the living room, will it automatically record calls on the phone in the bedroom *without* me having to run into the living room to push any buttons? (I have POTS--plain oldfashoned analog phone service.)
- Hi Doug, yes this will automatically record calls from all phones on your line, just as you described.

- If plugged into a cordless digital phone base unit will it still record the calls. The system works on a standard 5.8 GHz spread spectrum. The base unit is plugged into a standard wall socket.
- Hi Niall, it wouldn't plug into the phone base, it would actually plug into the wall jack. It comes with an adapter so that when you plug this into the wall jack instead of the phone, then you can plug the phone base into this. It will then record both sides of the conversations.

- Hello
I am interested in the product. I wanted to know how it is going to work with Vonage. I have an adapter by Vonage that is connected to my internet modem. I connect my regular phone with the adapter, which has two phone outlets. Please explain. - Hi Rocky, it will work with Vonage. You unplug your phone and plug in the Telephone Adapter that comes with the recorder. Then into that adapter you can plug both the recorder and the phone.

- Hello
- From Roberta Bauer at 9/29/11 8:14 AM
- Our phone service is through Time Warner Cable in Ohio and we have 3 cordless handsets. There is only one base station the other two are just charging stations. The filter is plugged into the modem from the phone jack and then the base is also plugged into the same jack (dual(?)) How would I attache the recorder? Would I have to use a splitter off the existing dual jack and if so would this cause any problems in the functioning of the recording device?
- Hi Roberta, there is an adapter that comes in the recorder package. You would unplug your phone base from where it is and then plug the recorder in it's place. When you plug in the recorder, it uses an adapter that has an extra slot on it for you to plug your phone base into.

- From Rosemary at 2/2/12 9:43 PM
- Does this work on the IPhone?
- Hi Rosemary, yes it will work on an iPhone. If you take look at the picture of the universal cell phone adapter that comes with it, you'll see that one end of it is a plug and the other end of it is an earpiece. You put the plug into the recorder, and the ear piece in your ear. Then, you hold your cell phone up to that same ear and have your cell phone conversation as usual. (It doesn't actually even plug into the cell phone, that's how it's universal and will work with all brands.) There's a built in microphone in the ear piece that picks up both sides of the conversation.
