  • Can it be used with a cell phone?
  • Hi Alex, yes it comes with a universal cell phone recording adapter. The way it works is one end of it is a plug and the other end of it is an earpiece. You put the plug into the recorder, and the ear piece in your ear. Then, you hold your cell phone up to that same ear and have your cell phone conversation as usual. (It doesn't actually even plug into the cell phone, so it's universal and will work with all brands.) There's a built in microphone in the ear piece that records both sides of the conversation.

  • This comes with a USB cable. What is the cable used for? Can I plug it into the computer to transfer files directly? That would be easier than using the SD card.
  • Hi Ingrid. Yes, it comes with a USB cable and that is exactly what it is for; to transfer files to your PC. You don't even need to use the SD card functionality if you don't want to; you can just record to the internal memory. Then if you want to transfer the recording from the internal memory to your PC, you just use the included USB cable.

  • Hi Lorena, with the DDR-5300 you can record either to the internal memory or to an SD card (sold separately). If you record to an SD card, then yes you can pop out the card and pop it into your Mac and open it in iTunes, or email it or whatever you want to do with it.
